Those Wacky Iranians Get Their Gay On

Yes, it seems that once again, the Iranians are telling us exactly what they believe. Will the Left listen, or just chalk it up to a misunderstand, as when Mahmoud said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map?

Homosexuals deserve to be executed or tortured and possibly both, an Iranian leader told British MPs during a private meeting at a peace conference, The Times has learnt.

Mohsen Yahyavi is the highest-ranked politician to admit that Iran believes in the death penalty for homosexuality after a spate of reports that gay youths were being hanged.

Actually, the Left has gone after Mahmoud a bit on this issue. Why is it they will believe that Iran will torture and kill gays, but do not believe that Iran does want to destroy Israel, and is actually fomenting much of the violence against Israel now, as well as against our own soldiers? Is their some sort of quota that needs to be filled?

Unfreaking-believably, this made it into a major liberal news source, which is usually so tolerant of Muslim extremist practices

Progress In Iraqi Town

I bet you thought I found this in the New York Times, right?

When Army Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commander of 3rd Infantry Division, walked the streets of Hawr Rajab on Nov. 7, he saw real progress in the city’s security climate.

Four months ago, any U.S. or Iraqi soldier walking the streets here would have likely sparked a battle, as the city was under the control of al Qaeda, and the streets were lined with improvised explosive devices.

Now, with the concerned local citizens fighting back and helping U.S. soldiers secure the city, the threat of al Qaeda has dropped considerably. An Iraqi army mechanized company also is in place, helping to secure the community.

Iraqis setting aside their secular differences also have helped secure the area. Sunnis and Shiites are working together to fight a greater enemy — al Qaeda. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by U.S. forces.

We’re unique here,” Army Capt. Chad Klacius, commander of Troop A, 1st Battalion, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, currently attached to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, said to Lynch. “The Sunni concerned citizens and Shiia Iraqi army (members) are working together; this is something that has helped us to secure the city.”

While this has certainly taken more time then most people wanted, the objectives of Operation Iraqi Freedom are coming together. How will the retreat and defeat crowd handle this? Of course, the left does enjoy being angry. It is a lifestyle for them, not just a look. They are not happy being happy. They are happy being mad. So, if we actually did retreat with defeat, they would be happy, which would not be the condition that gives them fulfilment. Staying in Iraq makes them mad, which gives them true enlightenment.

Oh, and the surge is working.

Fat People Cause Climate Change

Or so says the AP. Has anyone checked The Goracle’s poundage lately?

America’s obesity epidemic and global warming might not seem to have much in common. But public health experts suggest people can attack them both by cutting calories and carbon dioxide at the same time.

How? Get out of your car and walk or bike half an hour a day instead of driving. And while you’re at it, eat less red meat. That’s how Americans can simultaneously save the planet and their health, say doctors and climate scientists.

The payoffs are huge, although unlikely to happen. One numbers-crunching scientist calculates that if all Americans between 10 and 74 walked just half an hour a day instead of driving, they would cut the annual U.S. emissions of carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas, by 64 million tons.

About 6.5 billion gallons of gasoline would be saved. And Americans would also shed more than 3 billion pounds overall, according to these calculations.

Well, let’s face it: the part about exercise and cutting calories is actually a good idea for all of us. I could stand to lose about 20 myself. But to combine it with the rediculous global warming as caused by Man is, well, rediculous. Chiefly because CO2 is not the chief greenhouse gas; methane is. Methane is considerably more pervasive, and much worse for “trapping heat.” What we really need to do is get rid of all Mexican eateries and any other spicy foods

Next thing you know, we will have “carbon neutral” diet plans, sneakers, and bikes. Maybe some carbon neutral exercise clothing lines. Because climate change is not, in reality, about getting people to change their habits; it is about getting people to shell out big bucks for things like carbon offsets. Why else would the leaders go on with their lives as usual? Why else would all the disciples always have an excuse to not change their lives to be in accord with their views on global warming? I have come to the conclusion that, unlike, say, taxes, they do not want everyone else except themselves to live the life they extoll. They want everyone else to pony up to the Carbon Offset ATM.

However, like me, lose a few pounds, tubby! You’ll feel better, too.

TLF: PBS Telling Teachers To Violate First

Oh, goody, goody. Yet another case of lefty hypocrisy

A packet for educators issued by the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) in conjunction with the NOVA program “Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial” encourages teaching practices that are probably unconstitutional, a conservative organization stated on Tuesday.

“The NOVA/PBS teaching guide encourages the injection of religion into classroom teaching about evolution in a way that likely would violate current Supreme Court precedents about the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause,” said John West, vice president for public policy and legal affairs at the Discovery Institute, in a news release.

The 22-page document is a companion piece to the two-hour NOVA docudrama, “Judgment Day,” airing on most network affiliates Tuesday night. The film is about a trial concerning intelligent design that took place in Dover, Pa., in 2005. (snip)

“The Supreme Court ruled in Epperson v. Arkansasthat the government must maintain ‘neutrality between religion and religion,’” said Randal Wenger, a Pennsylvania attorney who filed amicus briefs in the Kitzmiller v. Dover School District case.

“Because the briefing packet only promotes religious viewpoints that are friendly towards evolution, this is not neutral, and PBS is encouraging teachers to violate the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause,” Wenger added.

We’ve seen many, many cases of teachers injecting the Muslim religion in to their classrooms, in some cases, for full weeks, over the past few years. And, heck, let’s face it, liberalism is a religion to them, just with other deities, such as the gods of Abortion on Demand, Global Warming as Caused By Man, the Nanny State, Sex Ed for Five Year Olds, and Raise Taxes On Everyone Not In My Monetary Bracket.

Should religion be allowed in schools? Yes. But should it be neutral? I would like to say NAY, however, since we were founded on Christian principles, and that religion is no longer treated with respect by the secular left-and not just in the schools, I have to say yes. Religion should be treated neutrally in a all schools. The last thing we need is progressives trying to discuss even more things that they do not understand. Or like.

Constitutionally, if the federal government is involved in any way with a school, then said school should not promote religion of any faith. They should be able to allow it, such as with a copy of the 10 Commandments, a Menorah, a Christmas Tree, even, yes, a copy of the Koran. Because the Framers did not want government promoting any one religion over another, turning it “official.” Their intentions were more in terms of say, promoting the Baptist Church over the Methodist Church. This stems from the way the Church of England was part and parcel of the English government.

So let’s keep most teachers, at least the secular ones, from talking about religion. Mostly because they will use it as a bludgeon against those who believe, and partly because most will have no clue what they are talking about.

PS: I am not saying that all teachers are bad and Godless. I know quite a few who are deeply religious and are good, responsible teachers. Most of them happen to be Conservative, of course.

Hacked, Part II

I mentioned a few days ago about being hacked. Thought I had it all fixed. Nope. Seems it was worse then I thought.

Fortunately, a great sould, Pete of PeteRepublic was kind enough to let me know that my feeds weren’t working. See, I use Bloglines, that way I can access the feeds from any PC, and my feed worked in that program. However, none of them were working anywhere else. There was an issue with another file that did not belong, and messed up the feeds to start with. Then, there was something which, when looking at the source code, had hundreds of bad links to all different types of those f’ing drug sites and and shit after the end body tag. Just could not find where it was.

So, I upgraded to 2.3.1. Fixed the problem. Also, did the same to the American Flag League, cause it’s feed was bad, and I kinda made it worse. This one is for me >

So, raise a cold mug to Pete!

I am also adding his fantastic site to my regular blogroll and the American Flag League, in a way that keeps his sites on the top of the list. Thanks, Pete!

B. Hussein Obama Meets The Nutroots

Would make an interesting title for a TV series, eh? Via Jay at Stop The ACLU, we find out the Nutroots, you know, those peaceful folks who do not curse, are teeing off on him left and right. Even saying he is aping the Right Wing Talking Points.

Barack Obama is echoing the right’s destructive narrative about Social Security being in crisis. The crisis is that Reagan and then Bush took all the money from the Social Security Trust Fund to use for tax cuts for the rich. (Clinton’s surpluses were paying it back, Bush reversed that.) And now the Trust Fund is going to need some of that money back .

New York Times Celebrates Soviet Spy

More red meat for the socialists

He had all-American cover: born in Iowa, college in Manhattan, Army buddies with whom he played baseball.

George Koval also had a secret. During World War II, he was a top Soviet spy, code named Delmar and trained by Stalin’s ruthless bureau of military intelligence.

Atomic spies are old stuff. But historians say Dr. Koval, who died in his 90s last year in Moscow and whose name is just coming to light publicly, was probably one of the most important spies of the 20th century.

On Nov. 2, the Kremlin startled Western scholars by announcing that President Vladimir V. Putin had posthumously given the highest Russian award to a Soviet agent who penetrated the Manhattan Project to build the atom bomb.

The announcement hailed Dr. Koval as “the only Soviet intelligence officer” to infiltrate the project’s secret plants, saying his work “helped speed up considerably the time it took for the Soviet Union to develop an atomic bomb of its own.”

Leave it to the Gray Lady to put the Soviet spy who infiltrated the Manhattan Project and sped up the Soviets getting The Bomb on the front page, at least on the Internet. Last time I checked, that was a bad thing, helping to lead to a repressive dictatorship of a 3rd world country with aspirations of world domination having nuclear weapons earlier then they should have, and 50 years of cold war.

Dr. Koval was a traitor to the United States. If caught, he would have been executed, and rightly so. Of course, we know how those on the Left fell about Soviet sympathizers and spies, having ignored the threat since the 1920’s. In fact, they demonized anyone who brought it up. Apparently, giving aid, comfort, and intelligence to the Soviets was a good thing, in Liberal World. Much like they do with Muslim extremists today.

The Times does make one goof

By 1934, Dr. Koval was in Moscow, excelling in difficult studies at the Mendeleev Institute of Chemical Technology. Upon graduating with honors, he was recruited and trained by the G.R.U. and was sent back to the United States for nearly a decade of scientific espionage, from roughly 1940 to 1948.

So much for the talking point that the U.S. government was not infiltrated by Soviet spies.

The rest is a gushing article extolling how great he was. Sickening.

Beer Monday: Iraqi’s Stepping Up

BAGHDAD - Former Sunni insurgents asked the United States to stay away, and then ambushed members of Al Qaeda in Iraq, killing 18 in a battle that raged for hours north of Baghdad, an ex-insurgent leader and Iraqi police said yesterday.

The Islamic Army in Iraq sent advance word to Iraqi police requesting that US helicopters keep out of the area because its fighters had no uniforms and were indistinguishable from Al Qaeda, according to the police and a top Islamic Army leader known as Abu Ibrahim.

Abu Ibrahim said his fighters killed 18 Al Qaeda militants and captured 16 in the fight southeast of Samarra, a mostly Sunni city about 60 miles north of Baghdad.

“We found out that Al Qaeda intended to attack us, so we ambushed them at 3 p.m. on Friday,” Abu Ibrahim said. He would not say whether any Islamic Army members were killed.

Much of the Islamic Army in Iraq, a major Sunni Arab insurgent group that includes former members of Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath Party, has joined the US-led fight against Al Qaeda in Iraq along with Sunni tribesmen and other former insurgents repelled by the terror group’s brutality and extremism.

I don’t think it is necessary to comment, other then to state, I wonder how Kerry and Kennedy felt about reading their biggest state paper Sunday morning? Well, mid afternoon for Ted, after a good night getting his liquor on.

DUmmies Simply Love That Hillary!

Or not. By now, everyone in the ’spere knows about Hillary’s little gaffe, to whit, planting questions at a Townhall meeting (also mentioned yesterday on Right Wing News by Rob Port of Say Anything.) Interestingly, a DUmmie compares this to Hils whining about someone planting a question about her pro-Iraq War Operation Iraqi Freedom vote in the affirmative. “Oh sweet irony! Clinton busted planting questioners at campaign event.”

Now, the thing about so many of the DUmmies, and others on the hard left, is that they just Do. Not. Like. Hillary. Primarily because she refuses to really repudiate her “Yea” vote on Operation Iraqi Freedom. Also, cause she just ain’t the Big Dog. Amazing, we “neo-cons” actually have something in common with DUmmies! Let’s get ‘er started!
