Privacy Statement

Outsiders is committed to the privacy of our members. To this end, any personal information you give us will be treated with the utmost sensitivity and measures have been put in place to ensure any information that you submit to us, whether electronically or in writing, is stored and handled safely and securely.

Please note that our website contains links to other sites, that may have privacy policies that differ from ours. Please read our linked site's privacy policies. We will however remove links whose material is found to be either inappropriate or offensive.

Upon becoming a member of Outsiders some of your details, with your express permission, will become available to other members of the club. Under no circumstances will any of your details be given to anyone who is not a member of Outsiders. When joining the club, you can choose to become an "associate member". Associate membership is available if you wish to support and stay informed about Outsiders, without your details being included in the membership list/getting in contact with other members. Outsiders staff will never pass on your details to anyone without your express permission.

We do not sell, rent or lease any of our member's details. We do not read or monitor your online communication, except to comply with and protect our rights as an organisation and/or if we have good reason to believe a member's safety is at risk or they are being abusive to a fellow member.

We will keep you informed, clearly and prominently, either electronically or in writing, about what we do with your personal information, and if we need to change or update our policy will give you 30 days notice. We use secure technology and have restrictions on member's access in order to safeguard your personal data. Only authorized members are allowed access.

Your entry in the membership list, only contains information that you have volunteered about yourself to attract other members. All such information and content in your membership list entry will be visible to other members only. Outsiders advise is that you only enter information that you feel comfortable sharing with other members. You may however change or delete your membership list profile at any time whilst online or request that a member of our office staff do so in writing.

You can take responsibility to protect your personal privacy online. Below is a checklist:

  1. Never give your password to anyone.
  2. Make your password at least 6 characters long and including a combination of letters and numbers.
  3. Change your password if you think you have mistakenly given it out.
  4. Use your mailbox to accept any messages rather than your email address.
  5. Whilst participating in chat or any other public forums, Outsiders cautions you against giving out personal or identifiable information such as your name, address, phone numbers etc. You should always exercise caution in the information you give about yourself.

Finally the personal information you provide will be held on Outsiders servers based in the UK. The information will only be used in order to help us improve the services we offer. Outsiders will always adhere to the UK data protection legislation. >We will notify members via appropriate means if we need to amend or update our policy.

We use cookie technology to monitor your use on the Outsiders website; this is not stored alongside your personal data but is used on an anonymous basis.
