Disabled People in Sweden may swing Swedish law towards freedom and tolerance.
Sweden is the only country in the world that criminalises the clients of sex workers, and anti-men feminists around the globe are campaigning for other countries to follow in their footsteps. In Britain, we are still free to do what we wish with our own bodies in that we are free to buy, rent, or sell sex, although kerb crawling, procurement, soliciting and brothels are still illegal.
The British site, www.tlc-trust.org.uk, for disabled men and women to find responsible sex workers, has now been approached by Titan Television, Stockholm about a programme to be transmitted on their Channel 5. They say the Swedes think that disabled people should be allowed access to sex workers.
When you look at the new TLC site, you will see that in other parts of the world, in Tasmania for example, disabled people can be taken down to the local brothel as part of social services. Whatever your views on sex work, it is a significant step forward if disabled people are instrumental in creating a situation where all consenting adults gain the freedom to make up their own minds on how to live their lives.
