Epica *-* i'm going to go to a concert of them the 17th november, here in barcelona. I really like it, and i like so much the man vocalist!
Kamelot i've listened, too. It's well, i like The March Of Mephisto, this is amazing!
But, of metal, i prefer the death and black metal

Wow, you're lucky! Not long ago I checked if they were coming to Norway anytime soon. They were, but only as a guest in one of Sonata Arctica's gigs... And I want to see a full Epica consert.CrosswordEpica *-* i'm going to go to a concert of them the 17th november, here in barcelona. I really like it, and i like so much the man vocalist!

I'm gonna recommend Kamelot too. You can tell that it does make a difference if the singer actually has studied music. I find it funny when crappy singers brag about how they are self-tought. XD
Other than that, I mostly listen to death, folk and black metal, so I doubt that anyone is interrested...

Even if they're more black metal, Emperor and Opeth are definitely worth listening to.

Since here some symphonic metal bands as Epica and Nightwish were recommed, I suggest the swedish band Therion. They began as Death Metal band in the late 80's, but change their style to symphonic metal in mid 90's. Unlike Nightwish or Epica, Therion used on many albums big orchestras and they lend some opera-chorus' to record these albums. The last one - Gothic Kabbala - used not so many of these elements, but if you want to hear symphonic metal in perfection, you should try the albums Deggial or Secret of the Runes.

Opeth is more Death metal than anything; the only record they've put out that showed any elements of Black metal would be... Orchid. *cough*
Anyway. Theli remains my favorite Therion album, followed by Secret of the Runes; they've pretty much been going downhill since Secret of the Runes came out.

Hmm... yeah, good call on that Orchid. I'd still say black influenced, but somewhat less so after Still Life. Their arrangements have that kind of epic black metal sweep and atmosphere - that and there aren't all that many death metal bands that write ten minute plus songs...
Other more death metal/traditional bands - how about Death? I've only really listened to their later albums, 'Symbolic' and 'Live in L.A', but they're another good one.

Yeah, Death has some excellent stuff; I'd recommend the album Human as well (I think Symbolic is my favorite of theirs). Someone uploaded their entire discography in .flac to Demonoid about a week before the site got shut down, but you should be able to find the torrent on another tracker (Mininova, perhaps). If you can't find it, but are interested, I probably still have a copy of the .torrent file on my hard drive.

I think most of the good bands have already been mentioned, but concerning symphonic metal (which I like a lot) I suggest Sonata Arctica, Autumn tears, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Stratovarius, why not Nightwish
In a more energic type, there is Bullet for my valentine, Apocalyptica, After Forever...
And the great bands in the epic type can be Epica and Rhapsody
Anyway I discovered a bunch of new bands thanks to you all ^^
