Scary chances are that she did it herself. Isn't this the kind of clothes our parents (well, some people's parents) used to wear in the late sixties?

Yep, she did, that's the height of cool at the moment, I'm afraid. The eighties are back. Take cover.

Bonnie looks great, that's right.

And the only really good thing about the eighties was the birth of Gothic culture....
Anyway, so it is fashionable and brave of Emma to wear it.

Bye the way....did anyone of you watch the trailer to "driving lessons"?

I'm partial to Bonnie as well. Probably because I have a soft spot for Ginny. But I'm also tired of all the media attention focused on Emma. This was Rupert's opening, but you would never guess it going to Getty images, as 3/4 of the pictures were of Emma. (IMG:http://the-pensieve.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Here's another shot of Bonnie. I'm not sure what they're up to here, but you get a nice shot of her dangerous heels. (IMG:http://the-pensieve.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

When we wore dresses like that, we didn't wear them with heels, and certainly not with hose. That cries for bare legs and Birkenstocks.

I actually quite like Emma's outfit... *hides*!

I'm not welcoming the eighties back with open arms, that's for sure, and there are quite a few style resurrections (cf skinny pants and leggings!) that I am quite simply ignoring. But in certain other styles -- like opaque black tights and bright colours -- I think the resurrection is superior to the original attempt. I think Emma's outfit is quite funky and fun, and I like that it's not as oversexed as some of the dreadful things she used to wear when she was twelve.

Bonnie looks sweet, too, although I've started to find her over-made-up and over-coiffed. She's too young for such nonsense!

I'll go along with you there. (Still think the dress looks silly with hose, though. Sort of like a parka with shorts.)

As for your other remarks: It was spring of '82 when my rather conventional roommate and I observed the new pants style in a store window. As I was doubling up for a heave, she made a wry face and said with resigned sadness, " I guess I'll eventually get used to these."
"Why?" gasped I. She could never make me understand her reasons. In such pants, after cutting the requisite 6" off the legs, I'm only a red nose short of a Bozo costume. I didn't buy but one pair of new pants for the next ten years, as I recall. When, six years later, I was trotting my old bell bottoms around my graduate school, I took a most evil satisfaction in watching the troubled faces of the young pledges as they stared at my clothes and tried to decide if they'd missed a trend.(IMG:http://the-pensieve.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/wicked.gif)
"From tight legged pants, with balloon pleated hips
and things that go bump in the closet;
good Lord preserve us!"

Dan Radcliffe was recently in Australia to attend the AFI awards. Here he is with his leading lady - Teresa Palmer - from December Boys, which is due to be released in Australian theaters this month.
