Ultimately Secretive

There's a feature in Time Magazine about the efforts Scholastic are making to keep the final Harry Potter tome secret until midnight of July 21. This involves sitting on the manuscript on planes and tracking the truck that delivers it to the company headquarters. Also in the article is a very "scary" moment when the continuity editor has her bag searched at a security check - inside the bag, pages of the edited manuscript!!

Tidbits of the article can be found at The Leaky Cauldron.

JKR comments on the event on her website.

"It has been a long time since I've done a signing and had the chance to speak to readers individually, so I'm delighted that we are launching the book in this way. It will be wonderful for me to get the chance to speak to people who have already read a few chapters while in the queue!

Good luck if you're applying for tickets, and if you're successful, I'll see you shortly after midnight on July 21st!"

And good luck to you Jo. Your writing hand is going to need it!

Scholastic Box Set Preview

Not monumental news here, but I thought it would be cool to show a little photo of this. It's already on sale if you traipse over to "The Leaky Cauldron" website, namely "The Cauldron Shop"; the release date is October 1, 2007. All seven of the books. I figured it would be slightly expensive. If you are wondering, it's $116.99 (or around £59).

Here's a photo!
