1) what happened to fudge ? was he in favour of the ministry ? or did he betray it like umbridge ?
2) where are the dursleys ?
3) do you think harry will see again dudley now he's cool ?
4) what happened to thicknesse ? is he still at the ministry ? (if he was under the imperius curse )
5) are they (mc gonagall, flitwick, sprout ...) married ? or single ? i(it would have been funny to see Mr mcgonagall, Mme flitwick ...)
6) who's the new headmaster ?

according to Max, JK would have said during an interview the last word of the book was no longer the word "scar" !!!

Chapter 6: Gilderoy Lockhart

I'm very sorry for the lateness ! after all these excellent summaries, it's going to be very hard to do better !!! Nevertheless, I'll try to do my best. So here's my summary :



chapter 6 : GILDEROY LOCKHART


The chapter six begins the next morning of the Sorting. They're taking their breakfast and everybody's still impressed by the episode of the flying car (except Hermione, of course !). During their breakfast, owls come and Ron receives a Howler, post from his mother Molly. And when Ron opened the red letter, everybody heard molly's voice yelling through the great hall !
After the Howler's scene, the trio goes in Herbology for their first class with Professor Sprout. Unfortunately for Harry, she's accompanied by Gilderoy Lockhart, a man with wavy blond hair and a broad vacant smile.


Before entering in the greenhouse, Lockhart wants to talk with Harry, even if Sprout doesn't seem to agree. He tells him that using a car wasn't a good idea, even if the aim was to become a "publicity-hungry" and also he'd have more time for that when he will be older like him .....
After a huge smile, Lokhart leaves Harry to come back in the greenhouse. While their class, Sprout is teaching them how repotting Mandrakes and how avoiding the venemous tentacula (because it's teething, apparently ...). Besides, they meet a new student : Justin Flinch Fletchey, a muggle-born, from Hufflepuff.


The next class is transfiguration and Harry observes his "second year" won't be so easy he thought and Ron's wand seems to be definitely done for. The afternoon, they have Defense Against the Dark Arts with Lockhart but Harry is disurbed by Colin Creevey who wants to take a photo of him in order to prove he met him. Overhearing creevey's request, Malfoy starts making fun of him; Harry, so angry, is ready to fight with Draco but they're stopped by Lochart, always smiling, who wants to have a photo and sign it after,of him with Harry !


During the DADA class, Lokhart do a brilliant introduction of himself, enumerating all his titles ( order of merlin, winner of witch weekly's most charming smile award ...). After various smiles, he gives them a test with only questions about him ! (test passed successfully by Hermione ). Lockhart introduces the students to Cornish Pixies and then, decides letting them out of the cage. No need to mention the classroom is wrecked and Lockhart's spell has no effect. Fortunately, Hermione uses a spell which works in order to immobilize them. The chapter ends with Ron and Harry who begins to doubt about lockhart's abilities.

So, it's ovious for me, this chapter is really important in book 2 :


- Molly already considers Harry as a son

- It's their first big humiliation for Harry and Ron ( Howler's scene )

- Hermione still behaves like the perfect schoolgirl who's agaisnt people who break rules; and yet, it will be her who'll have the idea to prepare in secret Polyjuice Potion in the toilets. I think this year is very important for Hermione, it's in this book she'll become mature.

- In this book Harry, Ron and Hermione are still children. After their class of DADA, Hermione still trusts in Lockhart whereas it seems so obvious it's a big liar ! she's very naive ! (poor Hermione, I'm being to pass hermione off as an idiot )

- Lockhart is really the worst sorcerer of all the books, worse than Filch ?

and now, some questions :

1) why JK has chosen to give the name of Lockhart to the title of this chapter ? even lupin has never had his name in a chapter

2) Lochart will be important later ?

3) Why Lockhart appears like a very big Harry's friend ?

Wormtail's debt

let us remember at the end of PoA when Dumbledore told to harry, that a day he will be glad to have saved wormtail !

so now, wormtail has a debt ! there's a magical link between the two, according DD ! so here's my questions :

1) Will wormtail betray voldemort ?

2) If yes, how ?

3) Do you think wormtail will die ?

(or do you think, of course, there's not debt ! )
