SLAF steps up bombing in Jaffna

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has stepped up bombing raids in the northern Jaffna peninsula during the past few days. SLAF jets conducted bombing raids in Pallai, Iyakkachchi and Thenmaradchi sector in the early hours of Thursday morning, said sources in Jaffna.

Meanwhile the Voice of Tigers radio said a 70 year old man was killed in an air raid by SLAF's MIG-27 fighters at Kaithady around 8.30 a.m. Thursday. According to the radio, he was identified as Vallipuram Thiyakarasa of Navatkuly.

Also on Monday and Tuesday, SLAF jets attacked Vadamaradchi East and Ariyalai East, areas held by the Liberation Tigers.
