Family of 5 seeks protection with Jaffna HRC

Parents and three children under thirteen of a family, sought protection with Jaffna Human Rights Commission (HRC) Saturday, due to death threats issued allegedly by paramilitary armed men operating with Sri Lanka Army (SLA). Madduvil area in Thenmaraadchi, in which the family lives, has become a place where many civilians have been killed in the recent past.

HRC officials have made arrangements for the family to live in safety.

A family from Kurunakar within Jaffna Municipality limits had sought protection with the HRC in Jaffna earlier.
