Youth shot dead in Vadamaraadchi

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops shot dead a youth riding his bicycle at Thikkam area in Vadamaraadchi Wednesday morning, sources in Point Pedro said. Due to SLA's cordon and search operation in the area from Wednesday morning details about the youth are not available. Point Pedro Base hospital sources said though they have not received the body of the youth, they were informed of the incident.
Recently, bodies of persons shot dead by SLA in Vadamaraadchi and Thenmaraadchi are not handed over by the SLA for inquest and postmortem but are burnt instead, claiming that the killed were persons had attacked the SLA, the sources added. Though members of public who had been at the places of such killings are ready to bare witness, SLA continues to burn the bodies of persons killed.
