I adore Peter Schickele! I saw him in concert once when I was 12 or 13, and in college he gave a speech at our music school. I missed it, unfortunately, and I was really angry when I found out about it. He did pass by me on the way out of the lecture hall though, as I had class in that hall immediately after his talk. My dad's a huge PDQ Bach fan, and we used to listen to the albums all the time. I want to get the PDQ Bach albums for myself to listen to at work. Hmmm.... Christmas list...

I've been told that Schickele gets annoyed that the "serious" music he writes under his own name doesn't get half the attention his PDQ act gets.
Don't know why he'd be surprised, though. The PDQ thing is simply genious for marketing.
