QUOTE (mariebernadette @ Oct 16 2007, 10:49 PM)
You can download it for whatever you want to pay. I know many a person who did it for free off their In Rainbows website. I threw in what I thought was fair, an even $10 which I hardly ever do without hearing some preview pieces first. But it's Radiohead and I'm blindly devoted.

My husband is a big Radiohead fan and he was so stoked when he came home from work last week with the news. He was all:

"I just heard on the radio that you can download the new Radiohead album online and pay...whatever!"

I asked him what he was going to pay and he said: "nothing, just to see if it actually works!"

I said he should probably pay like $12 since that's what it would cost at Best Buy, and that I thought Radiohead was worth at least that to him since he once paid $70 a piece for concert tickets (really bad seats too).

He replied all snarkishly "I'm probably going to buy the cd anyway to have a hard copy! I just want to see if it will work!"

It's now a week later and I don't think he's even done the download. Some Radiohead fan.

I will always be partial to OK Computer, myself, especially "The Tourist." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey, didn't know you were a Radiohead fan too, darling. OK Computer will always be the best, I guess. It's just a masterpiece, from beginning to end. "Paranoid Android" gets me every time. I had the great privilege to see them play in London once: when they played that song, I was crazy, jumping up and down and screaming... Then I looked around, and everyone was staring at me! Guess the londonians are not that explosive in their reactions...

Anyway, I can't download anything, because I don't have a computer at home. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Shocking, I know. I just think I spend too much time around computers, the way it is. And there's always some nice friend offering to dowload things for me...

Ha ha, typical Londoners. We saw Radiohead too, here in San Diego. Our seats were so far away! It was still fun, though. I was the same -- jumping up and down, dancing, singing, screaming.

Ryan was so boring at that concert. He was so in shock that he was seeing them live that he just listened with this stoic expression on his face and bobbed his head a bit with the music.

Actually, he'd fit in quite well with the scene in London! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

(Do you live in London, or were you just visiting?)

Oh, I wish....

Living in London has always been one of my greatest dreams, but it was never meant to be, I guess. Maybe when I get older I'll finally get to live there, and me and Sluggie can walk around doing nasty spells to extremely polite people.

No, I was there on vacation, it was the first day of the "Kid A" tour, and I paid a fortune for the ticket, 60 pounds!!!! Anyway, it was worth it and more.

I'll never understand people who stand still on a rock concert. For me, it's impossible. But I had a boyfriend who told me he had a lot of fun that way, because he was just letting the music flow through him, and he didn't need to move for that. That's Ok with me, I guess.

This is me at a concert: (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bananadance.gif) but I dance with even less rhythm.

Maddie, that is the only good explanation that I have ever heard for being stagnant while music is thumping around you.

I'm usually at a torn medium at concerts. If the venue his really heavy rock, I tend to find my way front and center, and eventually get tossed around in the pit with the rest of them. On the contrary, with The Killers this year, I had my own designated seat and I didn't really want to go completely insane at it. I found myself standing and bobbing my head and letting the whole thing kind of swirl around me. I however did not feel stagnant in the least; my friend and I enjoyed belted out the choice lyrics that we knew everyone would be belting out, because it's hilarious and somewhat smarmy at the same time.

I think the Radiohead songs I would go nuts on would be Paranoid Android (at least at the "off with his head" part) and the end of "2+2=5."

I had the supreme privilege of seeing a concert of Antony and the Johnsons yesterday. I feel like I saw God. No one on Earth can have that blessed voice, it's just too much. It's simply the most beautiful sound I've ever heard in my life. I'm still high with the sensation.

I'm not good with links, but there are a lot of videos available at YouTube. Go check it...

I'm obsessed with dancing my way to the front row at most concerts and I've had really good success and decent pictures, some a couple of pages back here on the thread. I've only been in one mosh pit and that was by accident, having been pulled into one at Flogging Molly. Freakin' soccer boys.

If you don't get your In Rainbows cd, Maddie, I'll burn you a copy no problem. I saw some of the Antony and the Johnsons YouTube videos and it's very soulful, almost tears me apart. You weren't kidding.

Oh, I'm so glad you liked it, Marie! We're so much alike, it's amazing. Yeah, Antony can go straight to your soul, and it surely tears you apart. First time I listened to "Hope There's Someone", I just couldn't stop crying. Still gets to me everytime.

Yeah, I love to get really close to the stage, when I get the chance. There's nothing like seeing your idol really close, touching him, giving him flowers... Done all that, thank God. I think Bowie was the best. I was so close to him, I could tough his feet, his pants, and he looked right at my eyes a few times... Wonderful.

Oh, just saw Arctic Monkeys live. Loved, loved them. Danced like crazy, too. Great show, from a great band.

Has anyone heard the new Killers single?
