You beat me to the punch, Max. I just know you from here not CS, Lil. And my sister is Willa (whom I miss and haven't talked to in AGES), so I guess I get coolness by association. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) You know, I had this wild thought Willa ran away and became a nun (after you referred to it in the ROLF topic) but then it dawned on me that maybe you have another sister. |

Well Cinescape finally went and did it. WillPly showed up in the forums one day and posted in the MoM that the boards would be closed down. He stated there would be a few weeks to save the database and email members, etc. Within hours of that message, CS shut the boards down. Scott and Wolf really scrambled around and were able to re-open the boards here. It's now called 'The Boy Who Lived'. I see! Thanks for the info. I checked it out thinking it would be a lovely trip down memory lane but it was just littered with people I either don't recognize (either new people or changed usernames) and people I do recognize but have no desire to talk to. Also, it's very quiet and my old home "Gryffindor Commons" is practically empty, save the people I just mentioned. Makes me kind of sad. I loved being a Gryffindork back in the hey-day of Cinescape (circa 2001-2002). Now all the cool Gryffs are gone. I did decide to register anyway, just in case, same username. I always use the same username. QUOTE Ric never posted at CS (not that I know of anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ). But you might remember her sister Willa who was a long standing Sly member. Oh! Yes, I do remember Willa! Well, it's good to meet you then, Ric. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Oh, okay. Well, you have a good memory anyway. I think the last time I posted her must have been about 3 years ago!! Are you younger or older than Willa? p.s. my sister used to be on the CS boards too, waaay back when I joined in 2001. her username was lilpigwidgeon. Heh, she totally copied me. She only ever made like 20 posts or so, though. (Hi Maddie!! It has been a LONG time!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) |

Younger than Willa by a few years. Today is her birthday, maybe I can convince her to peek her head in. I remember you, Lil, 'cause I liked your moniker and your posts. Well, even if CS is full of dorks, you can always count on this board to have the coooolest posters on the planet. Everyone here is totally cereal.
QUOTE You know, I had this wild thought Willa ran away and became a nun (after you referred to it in the ROLF topic) but then it dawned on me that maybe you have another sister. Leave it to you, Marie! It isn't Willa that's the nun, but another sister. I have three sisters in aggregate...and two brothers, just for the record. |

Hello everyone!
*waves* My name is Sarah, obviously. I was left directions to this forum in a secret message from an old friend at another site... Well, ok, not that secret, but I like to think about it that way. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Anyway, I promised I'd drop by after my exams, and I have. It's about six months after, but I made it in the end. So, I'm hoping that he'll see this, and... say hi or something. Since I don't know what his username is on this board. XD ... So, now you've all got the measure of the sort of person I am, pleased to meet you all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_mrgreen.gif) |

I never introduced myself, so I'll do that now.
I grew up in New York, but have been all over the place since I graduated high school in 1969. I'm now living in the Algarve which is a region of Portugal. I'm married and have a married daughter. How did I come to the pensieve? By the hand of TWZRD. I met TWZRD at the Magic Quill at Mugglenet where we both contribute to the story. When I decided to write a fanfic, she helped me a lot with suggestions and correcting grammar. When she went away this summer she asked me to join the pensieve, so I did. It's been great. Besides being a fan of HP, I like to cook, love every form of music except opera, have a boxer named Cookie who I adore which is strange because I hated dogs when I was growing up and like to drink a cup of red wine (Portuguese) at lunch and dinner. I speak Portuguese, English, French and smatterings of Dutch, German, Danish and Swedish. Also a few words of Arabic. No Trukish, I'm afraid. I took four years of Latin in school which has come in very handy when learning other langiages, and three years of French. Born in 1951, I'm probably one of the oldest members here, but it doesn't bother me. Hope it doesn't put you off either. |

Thank you for the great introduction Linda! We love having you here.
As for age, it never seems to matter on this board. And I can now settle comfortably back into the position of third oldest. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_mrgreen.gif) |

So glad to know that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bananadance.gif)
Isn't it amazing how HP seems to bring down age barriers? There's something for everyone. BTW, after musing on the DH, the 23rd psalm popped into my head. I just had to read it, so I dug out my bible and there it was--just like the scene of Harry walking to his death in the company of his (dead) loved ones, and then facing his enemy. It really moved me. There has been so much controversy about how HP is the devil, inciting people to do black magic or something. When, in reality, her books are very religious. The magic etc. is just a fascinating backdrop. It's all made up--a exercise in imagination. |
