Just a thought but
Maybe I'm used to the style of this forum but trying to limit conversation to the topics at hand without even a little bit of wandering would be a daunting and time consuming task for any moderator. I mean it's easy to visualize in our minds what is off topic but the real task is to try and put it word wise into a rule or a guide for everyone on what it means and not have it mean different things to different people. "what are talking about kangeroos for? the thread is about sexy Australian women"... "yeah but kangeroos are from australia too aren't they?" Sounds ridiculous but there is a bit of that mindset here. Our rules and guides work because they are specific in their intent and meaning. I sympathise with anyone who tries to definitively define the term off topic. The only problem I see with opening new threads is (although it does seem to be the only realistic option for this problem)... if there are new comments/threads to be made that can be construed as veering off from the main topic, the unfortunate result will be new threads pushing old threads off the main page at a faster rate and that might actually result in less discussion all around on all the threads. But just my thoughts...if that is what has been decided on by Ken and John, of course I will my best to implement it.

Okay... I reckon there are a couple of issues that have grown up very recently in the FS forum that are now affecting member's general enjoyment.....Since this thread is going, I'll address them here. (i) Tech 'Discussions' in the main FS Forums Too much of it - and not appropriate in the general fetish forums. MrCrypt provides the excellent upload/download free service of DumbFiles.com for members to use. Its certainly better than Rapidshare, and other, imo. moffringa1 currently has a thread running in the FS forum where he offers little-seen FS clips to members. The material is terrific. BUT... Many of the members have all kinds of problems downloading many of the clips. So, they post, asking for advice. These tech 'discussions' have grown in number - to the point where I believe they are intrusive. And, its spilling over into other threads.....We need a balance between the good stuff MrCtypt/moffringa1 offers - and the overall 'feel' and enjoyment in the FS Forum. Here's what I'd like to see in the FS Forum- starting now: (a) Post clips in a Format that most people can play - Or Don't offer it Post clips that have very common extensions - and are playable on most common PC setups....If that means you don't post some clips - then, fine, don't post them....We'll survive... (b) Discuss any Tech Issues Somewhere Else - Not in the main forums Do NOT discuss tech posts in the main forums from people that can't play a clip - Either, tell them to email you privately, if you want to help them - Or, discuss it in the 'Tech Help' thread on the front page....Or, in the General Discussions Forum....Or, off-forum someplace (like a 'Help' tag on DumbFiles, or something). Lets get all that off-topic tech stuff out of the general posting area of the main FS fetish forum. (ii) Too many 'Cops' Just lately, I see far too many posts where a member is acting like a moderator - making posts chiding fellow members, querying whether they are breaking Forum rules, picking them up on detail etc etc....This causes resentment from the members being nagged by fellow members. Its the Mod's job to correct members' activity, if necessary....NOT the job of a fellow member. MDFF has the 'Report Post' function....Please use the 'Report Post function - and ONLY the Report Post function - if you see something you think needs attention - I, or another Mod, will look at the issue, and take action, if necessary. (iii) Off Topic threads Common sense here - and judgement - guides all of us in this....Sometimes, a valid discussion between, say, a webmaster & members - about a topic of wide interest & relevance - could stay in the FS Pics/Clips forums....simply because it is useful info for a lot of people. Other times, a thread without pics get moved to, say, FS Discussions. etc etc A loose/tight rein by the Mod is what's needed in this, imo. So....I'd like to see the Tech stuff cleared off the main posting areas in the main FS Forum, please....Starting now. ...And, I'd like to see members Report Posts to Mods - NOT make posts chiding, nagging, or correcting, fellow members about possible MDFF rule breaks....Starting now. That should solve most of the niggly 'feel' issues that have grown up very recently in the FS forums... .

DownUnder007, you provided an excellent, logical, reasonable, experienced and well-stated post there. Substitute whatever fetish we offer for "facesitting" in your post an it's the makings of an MDFF Policy. That's about the highest praise I can offer - though this write-up coming from you is certainly no surprise. HOWEVER! I do not take kindly to you besting me so damn handily with a cogent policy statement. Knock it the fuck off. ...
