A Short Story...
Sometimes randomly, a particular muse is born. Like telling a story in 55 words.
He's been brooding since morning. Of tales being told in 6 words, lies in even less. But short seems a Sisyphean task. He had tried once. Three words started his grandest story. Three again, had seen it end.
‘There’s someone else’.
Note: This post was catalysed by a random walk to Aria

"Three words started his grandest story. Three again, had seen it end."
that in itself.. completes a story i guess.. :)
"Slice of Life!"
@Anki: Indeed, a slice of life. :-)
The many stories that spring to mind with that one phrase... "there's someone else"... stories of adultery, a thriller, something gothic... so many flavours. :-)
Nice.
Cheers!
Meenakshi
And that was the trick, to roll many stories in one.
What say? Mission Accomplished? :)
hahahahaha... yeah Sirji, absolutely. Not only accomplished, but a great success. :-)
@Meenakshi: Chalo good hai then toh!
cliched, no? :) would be interesting to see if one can come up with something absolutely original on this one.
"there's someone else hiding in the closet .."
and the best words prob in creative lit..are "Once upon a time.. " chills run up and down the spine.
"But short seems a Sisyphean task."
I thought so too.. but here it's quite different, in fact the opposite. You managed to tell more than one story in 55 words. great.
Btw I liked this exercise coz I'm verbose .. perhaps I'm gonna try it again in a better frame of mind. I hope you would too. It seems I can learn from here :D
@Mystic Rose: Like all love stories are. =) But what you see at the first glimpse is not the only story.
@Aria: And you found the other stories? :-)
As for being Verbose? Talk to me!
I meant cliched in terms of what those three words have come to mean, evoke in reader's minds.. :). true what you say....and thats how all the successful writers captivate, I guess.
Actually I found my own story ..
I read the last line as
"there will be someone else"
:D
@Mystic Rose: Rock strong Empirical Evidence, as they say. Statistically it always endsup to that. =)
And success, well thats someone i have never known.
@Aria: That is wonderful! Actually shows what an optimist you are. And if you havent already heard top the song Blowers Daughter, by Damien Rice; maybe you'd like listening to it. :-)
Ohh yes, once bitten twice shy isn't me. I like to get bitten, again n again. heh .. ok its nice of you to say I'm optimistic. Thank you. I should print it out for those who keep insisting I'm the opposite :)
the word verification for this one is, 'hepji'.. thought it was funny.
@Aria: I should admit, i was surprised when i saw myself typing out, that you are an optimist. Optimists when they write, dont have that bite in their words that you so naturally posess. Put me in the list of those who oppose anyday.
As for the word, i am sure it was for you. Hep ji! =)
Im sorry I never checked this space b4. I always went to Stoneleaf...n was wondering why u dun update often :)
And on this post - u r too clever Aakash!
Keshi.
@Keshi: Heyy Girl! Clever i am not, its the inspiration who writes through me. So you can tell this to her.
But you are too gracious! And thats a fact. =)
good one. somehow I thought of aliens. "There's someone else ... out there" probably because I saw Independence Day yesterday.
@Priyangini: Aliens!!! Now thats a NEW perspective. But i can trust you to bring loads of them (perspectives, not the aliens). =)
Hello:) Short and sweet or should i say short and bitter..but nicely written!!
And yes you were rightly wondering...but the delay in checking posts is because I was outta station on training...job requirements and no access to the internet there!! And you can be rest assured that I never comment on compulsion!!
I'd say u ARE clever. :)

Keshi.
@d4u: Heyyy so good to see you! And where were you? =)
@Keshi: Even if i was not, i would accept since you said it.
And i'd rather shower you with carnations, than stone you! :)
A 6-word story! Would look forward to some from you.
@whatsiname: I wish i was Hemingway, but ironically i am not. :-)

@Renovatio: Billion blogs was some exaggeration. =)
