walking through Big W style shopping mart, skirting around rows and rows of mid 90s porn, I come to the kiddy party section and there are Miss Piggy dresses, supposedly for kids party dress ups, it seems big enough for me to fit, like a sixties fitted cocktail dress with zip up the back with trompe l'oueil style decorations on it, 60s art nouveau leaves and jewels in beige pink and green. Also lots of packaging like some kind of hany armanious artwork lying about which I take as well as the dress which is $7.95

In Melbourne visiting various friends of Brett's and generally keeping warm by staying on the move and aiming for some sun when stopping for coffee and food. Some interesting dynamics going on all a process or manifestation of spending so much time with someone else tightly bound His twin bro just made him do an afternoon of gardening work and I slipped off with Scott and have slipped into town for day release. Went on a book buying bonanza on the last day in Auckland and also in St Kilda, both 2nd hand meccas: books on Patti Smith, the art/practice of handwriting and line drawing, books by William Burroughs, Colette, John Cage (poetry / experimental writing bunwah you would lerv it)and a rare picture book 'Barakei' featuring photomontages of Yukio Mishima by Eiko Hosoe. Also in a St Kilda backstreet park met Marygrace Levakis with a bag full of copies of a zine on local poets. The copyright date on this tome was 1984 and Marygrace had just finished drawing pink and yellow flowers by hand over the edition she passed on to us. On the back cover a poem by Marygrace finishes: "and the spunkiest guys I have ever met are all - right here - DEEP IN THE HEART OF MELBOURNE" on our way to Brunswick st yesterday, two 10yr old boys stopped us and asked if we wanted to buy a book they'd made - either on football or mathematics for 40c. The books consist of four coloured pieces of paper stapled together with texta writing 'by the paper gang' ie these kids are hanging out at the colour copy shoppe where their parent works. While we were choosing, two office worker blokes breezed through on their lunch breaks, one caught in mid convo: "see I like to fantasise about chicks with little tits" visited Bart in Video Busters, he is performing at the Glitch club later this month in 'Pussies' a live film that they perform in one section of the club each night and it's projected in the other bar as a film as far as I understand.

Night is draggin' her feet I wait alone in the heat I know, know that you have your way 'Til you have to go home. "No" 's a word I can't say.
But it gets me nowhere to tell you "no" It gets me nowhere to make you go Will a little more love make you Start depending Will a little more love Bring a happy ending Will a little more love make it right Will a little more love make it right.
Where did my innocence go How, how was a young girl to know I'm trapped, trapped in the spell of your eyes In the warmth of your arms In the web of your lies.
But it gets me nowhere to tell you "no", ...

'They create sometimes unglamorous images, although often quite sexual, that embody a kind of every day aesthetic. They employ ordinariness and the incidental rather than hyping up the product, which is often hard to locate.’ on 'grunge' fashion photographers
female portraiture - flattening out of image - form of symbolist painters but imbued with something more - in klimt's case rich inlay of gold & silver, 2d opulence, in richardon's unadulterated ring flash no touching up redeye etc the snapshot look locating celebrities and sexy downtown chicks in immediacy of private snaps, raw 'amateur' candidness. so if klimt is to TR as egon schiele is to ryan mcginley? raw nudity self portraiture in shock mode - masturbating, scowling, vomiting...

Shirley was very heavily made up resembling someone from the court of Louis Quinze. Marie Antionette perhaps. Whereas previous weeks she has been very Nikki Webster. Then her wig fell off and she did the rest of the number without, pausing only to straighten the stocking holding her hair in. All of a sudden Marie Antoinette was gone and Pierrot stood in her place.
